Candylicious Dating

The hubster and I go dating at least once every week or two for time alone in between classes or just when the kids are out doing their own stuff. Sometime in July, we went to Resorts World just for a stroll about the shops there. Nope, didn't gamble nor go to Universal studios but we had a fun time roaming the Candylicious shop there at RWS for the afternoon after some food & ice-cream.

I thought it would be a great time to feature the hubster here as he was at one of his heaviest to date at 135kg in July. He had since returned to training since then and today, he stands at 112kg and more to go before he reaches his target of his previous 86kg size HERE. Watch this space to see the transformation in 3 months time!

LNY Mineral Makeup / TShirt Deconstruction Workshop #1

The much requested Tshirt deconstruction workshop was finally on the way and I had the support of my dear friend, Jo Lim from Lolita New York to run a combined workshop for both her Mineral Makeup products and the sexy shirt deconstruction demo. This is the first of a few workshops depending on the demand for this workshop.

Quite a number of my dance students this time round was not able to make it due to some being affected by the Japan crisis or being sick that day so another round of this workshop will be held on the 9th of April 2011 at the Raffles Town Club again for those who did not make it this first time round. Those that did come are welcome to attend again. Details for the next workshop can be found at the end of this post.

We had our dance class as usual and after freshening up. We proceeded to our workshop room where Jo started off with her introduction of her company and herself to our group of lovely ladies for the day.

We went through how to analyse our skin type to be able to choose suitable products for our skin tone. Image above showing Jo explaining what kind of color corrector shade would be suitable for my kind of skin...

Explaining further on the different products such as their finishing powder with her customised dispenser that sets the makeup on your face, contours your face shape and shows how it brightens your face with its use... she also went through tips on how to reduce eye puffiness and water retention with her special facial massage technique and how to properly wash your face all while toning your jawline so you can avoid a double chin!

Everyone then were placed in groups of 3 and everyone was given a pack of full set mineral makeup kits to experiment with. From blending their own shade of blusher to attempting to recreate the smokey eye look with the products supplied.

When that was done, everyone was gifted with the makeup kits that Jo provided which they split amongst themselves in their respective group.

We then moved along to the shirt deconstruction segment of the workshop. Everyone brought 2 of their own shirts with their scissors and were all ready to slice n dice their shirts from Old to Sexy... I layed out some of the previous designs that I experimented with and everyone listened intently ready to wield their scissors for some destruction... haha!

I introduced the 3 basic designs that I was demonstrating for the day. The back tie, the back weave and the corset and everyone got started as they listened with my step by step instructions.

At the end of it all, everyone left with their own new sexy creations from their old tops. Knowledge on how to create those tops again and again for future use and a generous full sized Mineral Makeup kit goodybag provided by Lolita New York for their participation.

Trekking Up Mount Faber...

As part of my personal training program to incorporate a more active lifestyle into the mindset and lives of all my clients, one of my dearest client and I set out on a trek up Mount Faber on Sunday.

Our day started at 7am where we were deposited by cab at the base of Mount Faber Road. Map can be found HERE. We started at where the Taxi A image on the farthest right of the map and made our way up the slopes at a steady pace.

We walked up and down the slopes, enjoyed the scenery and the fresh air that was devoid of much toxic traffic fumes that we usually inhale... Armed with our haversacks filled with the necessary fluids for the day, a change of clothes and with me the necessary first aid kit.

We were delighted as we reached the top and referred to the map and realised that as we journeyed around the area, that we had completed all of the walks and crossed bridges that were on the trail.

From going up Faber Walk to the Canopy Walk to going along the Marang Trail, crossing the Henderson Waves Bridge, climbing up the Hilltop Walk stairways, trekking along the Forest Walk and crossing over the Alexandra Arch and eventually reaching the Floral walk @ the Hort Park.

It took us a total of 3 hours to walk throughout all those trails with the occasional stops to enjoy the scenery, drink water and to explore what signs they had placed up along the way.

Signs like... "No rollerblading/Skateboarding" - Up along Mount Faber? I would think it was a reasonable request that this was put up. I cannot imagine how one would stop safely on such inclines and slopes specially if there was a car coming. Even if you managed to fall on your side, you would probably end up rolling down the steep slopes to the base anyway.. Eeeppsss!! Safety first!!! I hope no one had to be injured before this was put into place...

And being a considerate pet owner and "pick up your dogs poo" and dispose of respectfully would be great of course...

And "Do not feed the Monkeys!"... we didn't see any Monkeys that morning and all I saw was a bushy orange squirrel who tried his/her darnest to escape from us all while scampering up the tree... Do we really look THAT scary?!

Doing a walk so early in the morning was extremely refreshing with the morning dew on the plants still cool and dripping off the leaves around us. The air was breezy and crisp and the sun was not beating its rays at us in attempt to fry us alive.

Our trek eventually ended at the Hort Park where we enjoyed a brisk walk through the flowers, enjoyed exploring the many unique plants they were cultivating at their experimental greenhouses and watching the fish as they meandered about in the Koi ponds within the park itself.

It was an extremely satisfying and enjoyable morning and I'm looking forward to our next trek next month for more outdoor adventures. On our list right now for the next couple of trips out would be jogging through the Singapore Botanic Gardens, Sentosa, Pulau Ubin, Mandai-Bukit Timah Hill and exploring the Kampung Buangkok Estate.

Any more suggestions on trails to explore would be appreciated.. meanwhile.. onwards towards a more active lifestyle!! Good Morning Singapore!!!

V-Golf Ladies Card Launch Party

Some two weeks back after my Friday evening class, my gorgeous friend n dance student Judy invited me to join her at the V-Golf Sports Bar Ladies Card Launch party... I wasn't prepared for a night out and was feeling quite poofed from the dance classes that day, definitely wasn't dressed for it but went with my black tank n jeans to check it out... I was happy I went though.. the ladies made it enjoyable... all these pictures are from little instant event picture cards that were taken and printed on the spot and given to us... instant gratification! I like!

V-Golf Sports Bar is the one & only Sports Bar in the ASEAN region to have a wholesome concept for their golf simulators integrated with multi-axis platform & 3-holes putting plate. They didn't only have golf games but also virtual dancing games, darts, xbox games, and other interactive kinds of fun stuff to do. I thought it was a great idea for an evening out with actually something to do other than just sit and stone out with a drink and mingle with small talk that sometimes just doesn't make sense... it may be just me but I cannot enjoy the night out just staring at each other in the group and pretending to enjoy the "ambience"... if its a night out dancing, I'd like to actually BE dancing, sweating and moving without the alcohol...

A spa was there doing a mini roadshow to promote their spa packages and gave us hot hand paraffin waxes which was supposed to make our hands soft... note that I mentioned "supposed"... it just ended up making our hands smell like essential oil... our hands were dipped into hot wax & wrapped in gladwrap and looked more like raw chicken fillets at the supermarket... we amused ourselves doing the robot dance with our wrapped up "chicken fillets". Looking at these pictures, Damn!! I should have put on some makeup!! Wahahaha! I look so pale!

I met a new galfriend too and guess what? Her name is also Pamela and she's also half chinese half filipina!!... we've got the same bloodlines! Hoy Ganda!! :) It was an immediate connection and she's so funny!! Since the drinks were free flowing for the event, I enjoyed lining my side of the table with 5 large glasses of orange & cranberry juices!! Whooooot!! I met the rest of the group of Judys friends and they were all very babelicious ladies... Thanks for the nice evening!! I believe the next time I'll be meeting Pamela Perez again is probably at the pole and exotic dance workshop that we'll be attending soon... Oh la la!!! *excited*

Nightmare on Bus 190

After last Saturdays' dance class, my girlfriends who joined my class and I decided to have some girl time together for dinner and to people watch over at Clarke Quay for abit. Little did we know that we were in for a little bit of a nightmare that evening...

Serene, Pek Gan and I fresh after the latest circuit training routine that I've created, feeling va-va-voom with the latest deconstructed tops that I created, set off from the club at Bukit Timah. We were chatting happily and boarded the bus 190 that would have brought us direct to Clarke Quay with a travel time of only about 15 minutes... 10 minutes into the journey, it struck me that I was seeing trees, trees and more trees.

We were on the highway heading to Choa Chu Kang!! We were going the wrong way!! Argh!! It completely escaped us that we were on the bus that was heading the wrong direction and the worse part was that it was a journey to one end of Singapore with a non-stop bus that went over major long highways to the west end of Singapore. We had no choice but to wait till the bus hit Bukit Panjang.

We then decided to just have dinner in the west instead and head down to CQ after. We peered out the bus windows in hopes to see a food centre and eventually saw one but realised shortly after that the nearest bus stop was just too far to walk back towards it. So we headed onwards toward the CCK interchange. My god, that just mean another 20 minutes on the bus as the bus traversed internally through the CCK estate... *smacks head*

When we finally disembarked, we were already somewhat delirious and proceeded to get something to eat and shortly after lined up to board the same bus back towards town to our final destination for the evening.

From the time we boarded the bus in the wrong direction, it was only 6pm and bright as seen above. By the time we hit back town, it was already 8pm and dark. We had practically made a 15 minute journey turn into a 2 hour one on the "same" bus. *blink blink* Bimbo Moment.

We tried however to make our journey as interesting as possible and whenever Serene whips out her iphone, we know that we would be taking pictures of us in strange positions and poses. And incase anyone was wondering, I am 101% straight so I really am not into kissing other females... this picture is not what it seems.

Sometime into the ride... ZZzzzz.... why does it take sooooo long... *peers at traffic on the highway... & falls back asleep*... eventually, we finally hit town with flat aching butts. Pek Gan already on the edge of her seat ready to slide off, Serene with her not so glam snore position and a grumpy me uncomfortable in my seat...

Serene took this shot and even though it was only part of my face and grumpy, we thought it was a nice picture that made me look like such a little girl.. hahaha! A 33 yo middle age mom of 2 pre-teens trying to pass off as a SYT.... *sweet young thing*... ewww... *balks* Hahaha!

Eventually we reached our stop and stumbled off the bus relieved. Finally, we have reached. Albeit not so cheerful, alot less energetic and feeling a little half dead...

The night eventually ended well as I took the opportunity to pop into Azzucar. Where I had previously worked with them as their external design, PR and events partner for a period of time and held 2 of my past birthday celebrations there. Sadly, it was their last day and Azzucar is now officially out of operations and closed. I made my rounds to say goodbye to everyone I knew there. So one of my favorite haunts is now gone forever, along with the live cuban band that I grew to appreciate who belted out many of my favorite spanish tunes and dance numbers.

We then proceeded to Cuba Libre around the corner at Clarke Quay to enjoy some more amazing music played by a pretty nifty and charming Colombian band. Serene knew the club manager, Trevor and he made us his guests for the evening so everything was on the house. He ensured that everyone had their drinks. Mine was a Virgin Mojito (non alcoholic! okay)... and Trevor plied the table FULL of extremely delicioso yummies!! They were seriously tasty tasty food.. if anything, I'd be back there to eat!

We had grilled chicken cheesy nachos with Jalapeños, crispy Prawn cheese bruchettas and Mango chicken Cheese Quesadillas and the menu was open to us to order more if we wanted to.. Gosh.. talk about being spoilt for choice!! Too bad after the initial round of food, I was ready to "give birth" right there n then with the amount of food offered. What a wonderful *pats tummy* experience that was... really good food, good music, love the company and a final good end for such an adventurous evening... Thank you Serene and Trevor for the treat! :) Salsa and Bachata one day? :) Por supuesto!

Halloween: Devilicious Danza & Trick or Treating!

Halloween this year was fun! I spent last year at Azzucar's Halloween night but this year, I managed to have 2 of my classes a Themed class instead of heading out at night. First class over at the A. Club HERE with Policewoman Pam with the rest of my class. (Group picture when received will be updated here).

This picture above is from my Raffles Town club class and its only HALF of my usual class. The rest didn't make it that day due to illness, injury or travel but what a pity! It would have been great to have everyone attend! I miss all of you! I will be planning the next Themed class soon! Either Christmas themed or Chinese New Year themed! Please prep now!

I went as a Red Devil, joined with my dance mate and instructor, Esther plus Pek Gan that day for a team teach class. Armed with Lolita New York eyeshadow prizes and Facial Gift Vouchers for the best dressed *instructors excluded*, we had an amazingly fun class.

We all danced in our costumes after a round of picture taking, gave out prizes and exhiliratingly left for another segment of the evening! Angie above, has been the organiser for the Lentor estate Halloween party for the past couple of years and she invited my girls and I down for the party that night!

My girls got dressed up. Lauren went as an all black vampire with "wounds" on her face and Eirian went as a butterfly faced pink fairy. And I went down again as Policewoman Pam. I washed the costume the day before and had it ready to be worn again that evening with the torn stockings that ripped the day before...

I loved this shot as what went on during that time was hilarious! Its Abigail Chay! She was the emcee for the evening and when we took the photos, she exclaimed.. "If there were more police like you, alot of people will want to get arrested... come la! Arrest me also!"... and "I knoooowww, I'm dressed like this so that you can say I'm UGLY while everyone looks so pweeety right!!" *fake cry - booo hooo hooo...* (Bursts out into insane laughter)... Oookay.. time to run away..

She was a really funny and nice person however, albeit her emceeing and voice quite unnerving and annoying but it really did suit the theme for the night...

And then there was the Police post. Which of course had real policemen! This officer here was thoroughly amused and exclaimed "wah! Which country are you from?! - Nice outfit! Must have more like you at our station..."... We took a picture and as with him being a real policeman, he really stood like a statue the whole time we were trying to get in place for the shot! Luckily he really didn't stand at full marching attention! Sedia! Ohh.. and he gave me a mini whistle that I could clip onto my bag. "To alert others if & when I'm in danger..." he says.. Awww... how sweet... :) Thank you Mr. Policeman!

Then there was an hour where the girls and the rest of the children went from house to house trick or treating! It was the girls first time and it would definitely not be the last! They were both so amused when their bags slowly filled up with treats and by the time the trick or treating was over. Their bags were completely FULL!!

I shared a memory with them from when I was still back in the Philippines many years ago when I was in Middle School, Grade 7. Which is about equivalent to our P6/Sec. 1 here in Sg. Halloween is widely celebrated in the Philippines. Houses there REALLY get decked out and Halloween merry makers will fill the streets to Trick or Treat in full costumes.

We used to chant this when we walked down the streets. "Trick or Treat! Smell my Feet! Give me something good to eat! If you don't! I don't care! I'll pull down your underwear!!"...

When the trick or treating was done at the Lentor party estate, a small buffet of finger foods and drinks were offered. Games were played on stage and prizes were awarded for the best dressed that evening.. and guess what? I won 3rd Prize with my Police Chick costume. "The Joker" won 2nd Prize and the Family who came as Mr and Mrs Tut *Egyptian Royalty* with their daughter won 1st Prize!

Many thanks this Halloween this year to Angie for inviting us to trick or treat! My warmest thanks to Alegria Dimas who lent me all my costumes this year, without them - I would not have dressed up so nicely. And big appreciation to all instructors and students who dressed up when they came for my classes!! Thanks for being such a sport!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!! I hope you had a great one!

Universal Studios Rocks!!

Last Sunday, my mom, my 2 younger sisters plus my dad organised an outing to Universal Studios with my girls and me. It was quite unusual considering too that my 2nd sister and my mom had flown in from the Philippines this time to be around for such an outing.

I loved it there! It didn't quite matter that the really large roller coaster wasn't open yet because all the other rides and shows were so enjoyable! We went there right after lunchtime and left when everything closed after 6pm and that wasn't enough! It was just enough for us to take quite abit of rides and go to some shows but I don't think we covered everything! We must go back!!

For some strange reason tho, in the pictures that we took that day. No matter whos camera was used - everyone looked bloated and swollen but .. pfft! Whatever! It was still really fun.

We caught the Madagascar Carousel ride, the Shrek 4D Adventure show, some Shrek Mini barrel ferris wheel, Waterworld, Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, Canopy Flyer, Revenge of the Mummy (went twice!!), Accelerator, Lights - Camera - Action show and the Monster Rock show.

My driller girls for the day... and Eirian dropped another tooth again!! Each time we hit Sentosa - she goes in with at least ONE loose tooth thats usually hanging by a single root. She must have swallowed it as it was loose when we reached there and it was gone after dinner! Last time we hit Sentosa - Post can be found HERE.

And they were very happy when we popped by Loui's NY Pizza Parlor for dinner... where my dad bought them a huge tall bottle of grape soda... and a full sized *crazy large but on thin crust* pepperoni and hawaiian pizza with pasta bolognaise and spicy wings on the side.

Yummy but expensive as expected. But they were pleased as you can see... we'll be back again sometime... Love love love Universal Studios.. and we'll probably hit down to Resorts World, Sentosa again sometime soon again just to walk about the shops there to get more popcorn n candy without going in to US yet since we only need to take a bus down from Vivocity.

Have you been to Universal Studios yet? Theres so much to do.. one day is really just not enough.. I want to ride the rides again and again till I spin around silly and fall down laughing... don't you?
